Launching the Prescott Circle Trail Challenge

Prescott, Ariz - The Prescott Circle Trail Challenge is about inspiring riders to challenge themselves to go the distance on an iconic Prescott area trail while raising funds for the Prescott Mountain Bike Alliance (PMBA) to support its upkeep. Since it’s completion in 2015, the 56-mile near-continuous singletrack loop encircling Prescott has inspired local Olympian Chloe Woodruff in her training, and she enjoys hearing stories about how the trail inspires others as well. Since the COVID-19 pandemic halted racing and postponed the Olympics, Chloe has reflected on the impact this trail has had on her career, and wants to share her enjoyment of riding at home in Prescott, Ariz.

The Prescott Circle Trail Challenge is to complete the entire 56-mile loop as an individual, a team, or a business within a 48-hour time-frame before Novemeber 1, 2020. Participants will be eligible to win prizes if they complete the loop and earn a minimum of $1 per mile in support of the trail through the Prescott Circle Trail Challenge fundraising page.

All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to a trail maintenance fund established with the Prescott Mountain Bike Alliance, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to create a mountain bike community and enhance riding opportunities on Prescott area trails.

Chloe Woodruff is challenging herself on Thursday, June 25th by attempting to break the current FKT or “Fastest Known Time” of 4 hrs 51 minutes set by Brian Matter. While no verification process currently exists for this trail, the Prescott Circle Trail Challenge will establish a process based on guidelines adapted from ultra-running. You can follow Chloe’s attempt live on her Instagram.

Here are the ways you can support the project:

  1. Sign up as an individual or a team and complete the Prescott Circle Trail Challenge by Nov 1st, 2020.

  2. Donate directly to the fundraiser
