Finishing felt good. It seemed like an immediate antidote for the disappointment I felt. But I kept myself together afterwards and so far on this trip home; which hasn't even been that hard. OPINION: PUBLIC LANDS CRITICAL TO OLYMPIC DREAMS
As I headed to Rio to compete in mountain biking at the Olympics, I found myself reflecting on all the factors that led to realizing this dream. This time I’m somewhere over the southern Pacific in a Boeing 777, headed for touchdown in Sydney where I catch one last flight to Cairns, QLD for the World Cup opener (watch it live here). I’m just past the mid-way point in my five-weekend racing block and time is starting to fly (it’s like I’m missing a day or something. oh wait, that happens when you fly to Australia!).

Bonelli Park UCI C3: Go Time
TJ, Maja, and I are cruising down I-10 headed home from the first race of the year as I type. We’ve been making this trip to California ever since we first started chasing the national cross-country circuit in 2006.
